In certain ways, Indian fashion is characterized by and derived from cultural diversity, making Indian textiles a unique sector in comparison to other countries. The Indian Apparel Industry has a market share of 13.5 percent and contributes at least 5% of India's GDP. The sector is expected to increase from a current value of roughly 108 billion dollars to more than 223 billion dollars by 2021.
The average customer spends more than 6% of their total spending on fashion accessories and clothing. More than 68 billion dollars will be spent by 6% of a country with a population of 1.3 billion people. Consumer spending on fashion garments and accessories totals more than 6,800 crores each year. The fashion sector may be on the verge of booming in the next years, thanks to an increase in Indians' average income and a growth in their opinion of fashion and clothing. Today, most Indian fathers are afraid of their daughters aspiring to be fashion designers. Women have greater opportunities in the fashion sector, such as fashion illustrators, stylists, consultants, bridal designers, embroiderers, and accessory makers.
OBJECTIVE:
1. To study the existing opportunity of fashion designing for women in India.
2. To study about the significance of fashion designing for women in India.
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY:
This study is descriptive in nature. The data were collected from selective e-journals, fashion apparel websites and so on. Hence it is a secondary-data sources.
CURRENT SCENARIO OF FASHION INDUSTRY:
India is among the world's largest producers of Textiles and Apparel. The domestic textiles and apparel industry contributes 2percent to India’s GDP, 7percent of industry output in value terms and 12percent of the country’s export earnings. The textiles and apparel industry in India is the second-largest employer in the country providing direct employment to 45 million people and 60 million people in allied industries.
Indian customers have been globalized by the smartphone boom in India. In the cities, both by retail and e-commerce, purchasing products previously restricted to metro companies. The demand for production in many industries, including the textile industry, has significantly increased. In addition, India has the world's second largest population and 65 percent of this is under the age of 35. This is enough to make India one of the world's most important consumer marketplaces. As a result, not just foreign textile players, but also new and growing textile manufacturers are entering the Indian retail sector. The designer can sell his suits through e-commerce sites such as Amazon, Flipkart, and others. In today's fashion world, e-commerce is the emerging star. The traditional method of promoting and administering the fashion industry is through the internet. Furthermore, e-tail fashion items are less complicated than those found in traditional stores. Because e-stores provide substantial discounts when purchasing large quantities of things. One of the best instances of home work experience is Amazon.
Sell on Amazon:
India is progressing in a variety of ways. Women nowadays, whether at home or at work, are intelligent, ambitious, and focused on their careers. Many of them have also become successful businesspeople. Some people effectively run their own fashion business from their homes. People are also drawn to home-based enterprises. You may make some additional cash and start selling on Amazon with a small investment. Making money in this way is considerably easier for women who are housewives, office workers, or university students. It all starts with the simplest method of selling. Some company concepts have been tested in the past. Here are several examples:
· Online Selling handicraft items
· Online gift shop
· Sell old-style sarees online
· Custom commercial jewelry
· Sell paintings and/or modern art
· Open a day-care for kids
Arts and arts:
Women can use online shopping to create a business by purchasing their rights from Amazon and displaying their talents and products to inventive individuals. Roses, ornamental items, keychains, scented candles, greeting cards, and soft toys are all available for purchase online. This implies that they would find purchasers if they had anything worth selling.
Women’s Clothing:
Many women have turned their boutiques into online businesses. They may clearly relate this understanding to the preferences of their clients as a lady. Women's clothes, such as kurtas, salwar, sarees, gowns, and bridal attire, are among the top-selling items in the garment sector.
Jewelry:
There is something about jewelry that most women adore. If they enjoy jewelry, this is one field in which they might start selling online. They were able to offer handcrafted and trend jewelry on the internet. Customers regularly purchase products such as earrings, bangles, necklaces, bracelets, rings, and anklets online.
Knitting and Sewing:
Remember how their grandmother or mother used to weave them brightly coloured sweaters? They may try selling sweaters, baby underpants and mitts, mufflers, and sweaters online if they truly have inherited such a knack. Embroidered apparel, tablecloths, mattresses, pillow coverings, cloth bags, and wall mounts not only look fantastic, but they can also be offered online to a diverse audience.
The formation of these businesses does not necessitate a significant amount of capital or business experience. They appear to have the option of purchasing things that are specific to the location and selling them online in order to gain admission. Choose a store that best fits their interests, is accessible, and supports their growth as a business owner.
Of course, Indian women are not worried by these obstacles, inspired and optimistic. It is true that most of these women had professional legal advice, aware of the company and eventually increased their home-based businesses, earned a large ROI and greater financial revenues.
T Several additional women have been inspired to start their own home businesses as a result of these women's efforts. In India, women entrepreneurs fulfil their own financial requirements while also contributing to the country's strong economy. Women account for 14% of India's 58.5 million entrepreneurs. It starts off as a modest effort, but it might grow into a larger enterprise rather than a lifetime commitment. For example, 9 percent of the founders of startups in India are women.

Women from tiny towns and villages aspire to run their own enterprises. Aside from what some brilliant, urbane people are doing. The Indian government has put in place programmes to help these women. Rural women are creating more small enterprises, both online and offline, than ever before. Let's look at some simple and profitable small business ideas for women at home for freelancers, working women, housewives, mothers, and anybody else interested in women's home businesses. The best example is that us, Priya Tyagi, a resident of Noida, Uttar Pradesh, got inspired by the talent and potential of the local craftsmen and decided to open her own online gift store – Tied Ribbons. On Amazon, she currently offers a selection of over 20,000 gift items and home decor items. Priya, like any other forward-thinking Indian woman, believes in making all of the goods she sells to local artisans. Her online business idea not only helped local craftspeople, but it also employed and benefited a large number of others. Women entrepreneurs will find the fashion industry to be a lucrative source of income. There is a lot of fashion industry.
