ABSTRACT:
Green design is one of the most critical factors of the green product development and manufacturing. Green related initiatives are picking up as the latest trend that companies should adopt for sustainable business growth and environmental protection. Organizations across the globe have been trying to develop and adopt innovative processes/solutions to meet stringent regulatory requirements related to green products. Companies have implemented QFD, lean and other systems to ensure green design but with limited success. We are proposing a new framework based of Capability Maturity Model’s (CMMI) Engineering Practices, which are one of the most widely used model/practices by IT industry. The customized framework will help organizations in ensuring green design. It will cover processes/practices starting from green requirement development, management and design to implementation.
