ABSTRACT:
Value based education holds a great potential to meet the objective of green rural development but it is not implemented in entirely. This study makes an attempt to identify various determinants of value based education and green rural development. This paper also explores the possible role of value based education in achieving the goal of green rural development. Researchers have also developed a dynamic model of green rural development through value based education. Researchers have used secondary source of data from various research papers published in national and international journals, reports and books. Researchers have found that if core values such as commitment, equality, honesty, individuality, integrity, open mindedness, trust and respect to others can be impart in the students during their school time then development in these core values transforms into active listening, diversity, flexibility, friendship, professionalism, responsiveness and team work. This transformation in values assists in holistic personality development of individuals. Dynamic model of this study explains various inter-linkages between influencing and challenging determinants of green rural development.
