ABSTRACT:
Purpose: Nothing is more important than securing a sufficient supply of high quality recruits to the teaching profession, providing them with the best possible professional preparation and creating satisfactory conditions of work in which they can be fully affective.” The present study finds the level of job satisfaction of teachers in government and private schools and identifies the factors influencing them. Design/ methodology/ approach: The questionnaire was divided into two parts closed ended and open ended questions. A statistical analysis was conducted on the responses collected through closed ended questions and qualitative data was quantified by counting the frequency of occurrence of events. For analysis and interpretation, the technique used is mean, standard deviation, independent t-test and one way ANOVA. Research value: This study will be helpful for schools to identify the areas and reasons of dissatisfaction among their teachers. This will make the schools to understand the appropriate behavior pattern and differences of their employees that affects the level of their job satisfaction.
